Information about the College of Tourism, University of Economics - Varna
The College of Tourism was established in 1963 by the Committee of Tourism within the Council of Ministers. In 1989 the College was incorporated in the structure of the University of Economics - Varna and since 1997 it has been one of its branches. The College was awarded institutional and programmе accreditation in 2008 year.
Admission of students from Bulgaria and EU is carried out through admission exams in professional aptitude - oral exam, and a foreign language - written exam.
Applicants compete for three courses, the number of students being allocated by the Council of Ministers - Management of Tourism Operations, Management of Leisure Operations and Management of Hotels and Restaurants.

Duration of Course - 6 semesters for the full-time course and 6 semesters for the part-time course.
The course of study is completed after passing State Exams in Theoretical Knowledge, Practical skills and First and Second Foreign Languages. On completion of the course students are awarded a University Diploma for Higher Education at College level - Professional Bachelor degree, 180 credit points.
This qualification allows them to work in small and medium-sized or large tourist companies at operations or junior management positions.
College graduates holding this Diploma can continue their education to obtain Master's Degrees in field of tourism at the University of Economics – Varna. They can successfully build a career in the Domestic and International Tourism Industry.
